bulletWhat kind of books may I sell back?

• Textbooks
• Laboratory Manuals
• Study Guides
• Student Solutions Manuals
• Working Papers
• Annotated Instructors Editions
• Instructor’s Editions
• Free/Complimentary Copies
• Loose-leaf Editions
• Used International and Canadian Editions

bulletWhat qualifies as a NEW book?

A new book is in perfect condition. It’s spine is unbroken and it has no frayed corners, scratches, dents, tears or stains.

bulletWhat qualifies as a USED book?

• A used book may have minor scratches or dents on the cover.
• The cover is intact but it may be bent or frayed.
• Less than 25% of the interior pages are wrinkled or have writing or highlighting on them.
• There are no torn pages.

bulletWhat is the difference between new and used?

We try to be as liberal as possible when grading your books. New condition means that the textbook is in perfect condition and appears to the vast majority of people to be a “new” book.

For example, there are no scratches or dents or torn page; there is no writing anywhere on the inside or outside of the book, there is no staining or grease or grime on the book and the spine is unbroken. The length of time you have owned your books has little or nothing to do with the grade your book receives.

If there is any evidence of use such as scratches, dents, staining, highlighting, grease, torn pages, etc. then a book is considered to be used.

bulletWhen do you NOT purchase a used book?

• There is excessive staining, mold or mildew on the cover or inside the book
• There are missing pages
• All or more than 25% of the front cover is missing
• There is missing or obscured text
• Over 75% of the inside of the book has writing or highlighting
• There is an excessive odor of any kind (i.e. tobacco, perfume, mildew, etc.)
• There are stuck pages
• It is an Instructors Manual
• It is a custom edition or preliminary edition
• It is Test papers or Test Banks
• It is a partial set (i.e. one volume of a two volume set) FAQ
• Excessive damage would prevent normal use
• It was illegally obtained or printed

bulletWhat if I am missing the CD or other supplements that came with the book?

If the the book comes with a CD, cassette tape, workbook, video or other supplement(s), those items are required for you to receive full payment. These items are acceptable even if they have been opened and used. If opened or used supplements are included then designate the book as used no matter what the condition of the book is.

bulletWhat if my book is damaged, torn or has missing pages?

We do not accept any books that are damaged or that have torn or missing pages. For a complete list of what is acceptable, please refer to this FAQ.

bulletWhen do you purchase a used book at half the estimated price?

• There is minor staining on the cover or inside the book
• Over 25% of the interior pages are wrinkled or have writing or highlighting
• Five or less pages are torn
